Enterocutaneous Fistulas are created when a connection forms between the intestine and the skin. This condition often occurs after intestinal surgery and can develop long term problems that require complex care. These types of fistulas can often be treated without surgery however if surgery is required the procedures often entail removing the fistula and reconnecting the intestinal segment involved.
